I can do it but it needs to wait till after santa comes!
My newer lissies do have browner hair but the lighting in my photo was coming from the left and skewed the contrast. I am going to try to do it in natural daylight tomorrow, we can see what happens then. I will also put my newest against my oldest.... ah so much to do!
Elisabeth's Nellie showed up today so maybe I can also do a first Pleasant Company Nellie against a new American girl Nellie.

I have a 1987 Kirsten and a 1988/9? Samantha. My Kirsten looks very different from other Kirstens and she has a pin in the back of her hair. (Pictures at the end of my dolls album)I have a pic of my Sam next to current AGP Sam in my Chicago album

How did you end up getting 4 Felicity dolls? There must be a story behind that. Is the face coloring different or is it the lighting. It appears as though the German dolls have tanner skin. Thanks for the interesting pictures!

Great pictures!
We only have an old Felicity at our house, so I sort of realize the difference when I see current catalogues and photos, but whoa... side by side it really stands out more. Thanks!

All you Lissie's look like they have very red hair. My new Lissie has a brownish auburn red type hair.

The face coloring is very different. I plan on doing a better photo shoot when DH returns my digital camera and when I feel better. I am having all night morning sickness.
Here is the story with the four felicity dolls. The two west german ones were purchased by me when I worked for the vendor. The last was one of Katie's dolls that Elisabeth snagged and would not part with and the third was the one that it replaced. The third was an ebay rescue doll that still needs more work and came with a huge lot of retired stuff that I bought for nothing (I do mean nothing, the seller had an insanely low BIN, less than original cost and I was annoyed at DH and logged on just as the listing appeared) As a result, two of the dolls are for sale.
I have to admit that I have multiples of all the historics except Josie. I am working on paring down the collection.

Nice photos, Lorie! And I must add I am so glad that Elisabeth loves the Lissie you bought from me. She was an extra doll I ended up with (long story) and I never knew what to do with her - she was just sitting naked in my closet for two years as I pondered what to do with her. So I am very glad she has a better home now!
